Hello, my name is Alison Hardy and I live in Great Gonerby, a little village just outside of Grantham, in Lincolnshire. My husband and I have two children, both boys. It is a multi-generational household since my parents (both in their 80’s) share our home. I have lived overseas for most of my adult life both in Canada and Oman, where my children were born. They say what goes around comes around – I was born in Grantham 50 years ago, and I’m back!
While living in Oman I was fortunate to work for the British Embassy as Vice Consul. This work was incredibly challenging at times but one of the most enjoyable aspects of the role was marrying people. I loved being part of the couple’s special day. Sadly, I also had to work with a lot of people who were dealing with the death of a loved one. When I arrived back in the UK I knew that I wanted to continue to help people. I was encouraged to look at becoming a Civil Celebrant by a number of friends who had their wedding officiated by a Celebrant and a few who went to memorials officiated by one.
I created HMD Celebrants, after training with International College of Professional Celebrants. I am able to officiate all types of ceremonies, whether it be an engagement, wedding, vow renewal, naming ceremony, or a funeral to name a few.
Whatever you want – your dreams can become a reality when you work with me.
When I’m not looking after HMD Celebrants and its clients I enjoy reading and puzzles. I love playing golf and am also a qualified scuba diver. I don’t think that I’ll be doing much diving in the lovely waters off the coast here however, I am very much a fair weather diver (and camper).
